We developed the TYR workshop because we realised that traditional redundancy solutions weren’t really serving the needs of the people who needed the help. Most of the normal solutions are very strongly focused on getting the “candidates” back into another similar job; that’s how the traditional outplacement organisations get paid, bodies in jobs. Regardless of what’s really right for them. Is it any wonder that many people go through several redundancies in their working lives?
This workshop focusses on you as an individual, helping you understand what your real aspirations are, and providing you with tools to fully understand yourself and and your options. And then put that knowledge to good use in setting off on the next part of your career journey – whether that’s a new job, a new career, or a new life!

Who should attend?
Redundancy hangs over most of us
If you’re unhappy in your job, concerned about your job security, or you know your employer is going to have to make cutbacks, this workshop is for you. Whether you’re a manager or supervisor in a technical or ‘white-collar’ job, or you work ‘on the ground’ in an operational role, if you know work can be so much better than this, then Transform Your Redundancy is the answer you’ve been looking for.
Whether your main objective is to get back into a good job as soon as possible or to completely change your working life, you’ll learn things in the TYR workshop that will make achieving that aim so much simpler. Peter has years of experience helping people get back into work – whether that’s the same line of work or something completely different – and just loves seeing people loving their work.
Both Peter and Andrew have made the move from employed to business-owner, and we know that for some it’s just great – and for others it’s completely the wrong thing to do. Andrew profited from every single one of his four(!) redundancies, none more so than the last one when he established his own business. And how to plan for it if you are lucky enough to have a choice. The workshop uses our simple over-arching POST framework:
PERSON – you’ll get real self-knowledge, finding your true needs and aspirations, and uncovering your hidden skills and talents. You will also learn about the emotional side of a big life change, and learn tools to deal with it.
OPTIONS – you will gain a clear understanding of ALL of your options, not just how to find another same old job. And learn how to decide quickly and with certainty whether an opportunity is right for you, right now.
STRATEGY – once you know where you want to go and what you can realistically get, you will work through the various methods of getting there, creating a robust and achievable plan to keep you on track
TARGET – armed with your strategy, you’ll learn how to present yourself effectively to employers or clients, using effective marketing and finely targeted networking, so you make the most of reactive and proactive approaches

Redundancy as an opportunity
Redundancy doesn’t have to be a scary event – with our help you can make it the greatest opportunity of your career so far.
On Andrew’s first redundancy, in his next job he saw his income increase by a third. On his second, he became a senior Account Manager for a big brand, handling multi-million ££ deals. On his third, he was lucky enough to run a business as General Manager and drive a Mercedes CLK. And on his fourth, he grabbed the opportunity to work for himself and he absolutely loves his work!
Meanwhile, Peter experienced both the highs and the lows of redundancy at a time when the rights of employees were far less than today. He also benefitted from his two-and-a-half redundancies. On his first he took stock and changed emphasis from HR to specialise in Training and Development. On his second he moved to a larger firm with many more opportunities. And the half a redundancy? Peter was given redundancy notice on a third occasion (in the days before a consultation process was required) and was ready to go when it was rescinded and he transferred to another division to continue his career. That experience eventually led him to decide to go it alone and set up his own business.
Peter is an absolute expert at helping people find the work they were born to do, change their careers, or just get back into work as soon as possible. And Andrew has helped people leaving corporate to establish their own businesses, avoiding many of the pitfalls that can trip them up.
